Military Services Held For Victor J. Bovee
Military services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Lake Orion, under the auspices of Oxford Post of the American Legion, for Victor Jennings Bovee, 57, who died at 9:49 a.m. Sunday, at his home, 19 Stanton Street, Oxford, following a year's illness. Rev H. B. Johnson officiating and burial was in Oxford Cemetery.
The deceased was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jun 7, 1890, and was the son of Charles and Gusta Lunam Bovee. He married Mary J. Moorton in Detroit, Oct 28, 1919. He attended public schools in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was a machinist, a veteran of World War I and was a member of the D. A. V. and American Legion. He had lived in Oxford for the past six years, coming from Lapeer. Besides his widow he is survived by five sons and five daughters: Victor, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. James Bechtel of Dyrden;Mrs. Donald Shipman, George, James, John, Betty, Marilyn, Mrs. James Curtis and Donald, all of Oxford.
